It all started out when our family got a Dell Computer in 2001. It came equipped with a webcam and a microphone. I remember i used to make all kinds of movies with that, until it broke in 2005. In August 2002, I made a video with my half sister's camera. She was up at our house to visit. We went to the park just up the street, and she let me make a video. It was just a little tour around the park. I don't know if she still has the tape from it, i'll have to ask. Anyways, in October 2005, we moved from Fayetteville to a small community named "Hogeye". My parents wanted to get away from the big city bussle. After we got settled in, I kinda lost intrest in filmmaking, until September 2006, when me and my friend Dallas were in History class. We were talking about the Andy Milonakis show, a show that we both liked. I mentioned that we should make a show like that. Then we were deciding on what to name it. We couldn't think of a name, so we just used the most generic name we could think of: "Show". It was perfect. The problem was, we didn't have a camera or any ideas, and we didn't have anywhere to distribute it. But, in October 2006, I discovered a video sharing site called "YouTube". It seemed popular, so I told my friend dallas. He said now we needed a camera. Another roadblock, however, I started to save up money for a camera. And so, in the meantime, on the evening of Saturday, October 21, 2006, I registered an account on youtube under the name "Everclearfan86". I chose the name "Everclearfan" because "Everclear", was my favorite band at the time, and the ඞ" part, well, that has really no meaning. I just stuck a random number at the end.
I kept on saving up for a camera. I only had about 15 bucks, far from an actual camera. But, I still had hope. I started thinking up ideas for shows and stuff. Finally, in February 2007, I started to make nickelodeon studios tributes. I had discovered the Windows Movie Maker program on my computer, so that was par for the course. And...... ON FEBRUARY 17, 2007, I GOT A CAMERA! I was so happy! Then, I opened E.F. Studios, and filmed my first program in Stage 16: "Everclearfan News, episode 1". the video was bad quality and i looked like a drunken hippie but what the heck?
Things were going good up until march when one day, my camera just stopped working. but, no worries there, because i went to get a replacement. i actually still have that replacement today. it still works! Anyways, we launched many series: the WTF??? show, Show, E.F. News, Shut up and Listen, and Say What. Some of our short lived programs were "The Cartoon Show", and "The Stop Action Show".
In early May, I believed that we were ready for a second channel, so I launched "E2" (E.F. Channel 2). This was a site where I'd just post non-show programming, you know, just like stray videos. Viral Videos. Yes, that's the word I'm looking for. But after a few days, I felt that I already have too much on my hands just managing the original channel, and so I stopped posting videos on E2. I originally said that I'd just take a break from it, but it's demise.... read about it in the next paragraph.
Things were going okay until late May 2007, when Universal363 left for the 3rd time in his youtube career. I was so angry I went to go film an episode of my popular video blog show, "The Forum". I ranted and raved at some people who I thought had caused him to leave. I uploaded the video afterwards and got off the computer. The next day, I logged on, and I had lost 5 subscribers. I then had a sinking feeling in my stomach. I went to my inbox and there were all sorts of angry letters telling me to "screw off" and, well, other things that I'm not going to mention on this website. I checked my comments inbox and got 8 angry comments already on that episode of the forum. 2 users that i accused were constantly flaming my site. I spent a whole hour on the computer fending them off and blocking them. I was steaming mad. I was so mad I angrily closed the E2 account. But, then again, I was probably going to close it sooner or later. However, about a day later, I sat down in a couch in the study and turned on the camera and made a heartfelt apology video and posted it. Many people who were against me in the war forgave me, and I removed the infamous "Forum" episode and deleted it. Never to be seen again. I don't even have it on my computer.
Well, now our channel was sailing into the summer. Ahh, the good times. Hot weather, no worries, vacations, and more! I think during the summer, our channel really grew. We were no longer struggling to get noticed. We were noticed and now we could just sit back and relax. The biggest event of the summer was my 5th annual trip to visit my grandparents down in south Louisiana. When we were packed up, I brought my camera and planned to do a 3 or 4 part movie about my trip. It ended up being 3 parts. One part was the trip down, the next one was the first week, and the last part was the second week. I edited the last part with my new laptop I got on the second week, and I think the laptop has really helped my site. If I was still using that old computer i have, I wouldn't be able to do editing or anything. Anyways, my old computer only has 37 Gigabytes of memory. I mean, an iPod has more space than that! And, I thank my step- grandfather Norman for purchasing that laptop for me.
Well, after I got home from the trip, I just lazed around. Nothing exiting happened, except when my 6 year old nephew dane came in August. He's a really energetic boy and we get along great together, despite the age difference. I guess we bond so well because i used to play with him earlier, and i guess he just grew on me. I took a lot of video and pictures of him, and put it on my site.
Remember the E2 channel that closed in June? Well, since it was August, I thought the e.f. channel was now ready for a second channel. But now we'd have a channel that would serve a purpose. It would be similar to "boomerang" or "nick gas". A "rewind" channel, where i'd show some old videos from my video library. I would call it "EF Rewind". And So, on August 10, 2007, the E.F. Rewind channel was born. it is still up and running today, but never really caught on. I'll leave it on youtube, nevertheless.
Anyways, summer was coming to a close. It was time to go school supplies shopping and get back into the halls of misery. Of course, it was great seeing all my friends again. However, not long after the school year started, my parents announced to me that we would be moving out. Okay, good news, but also BAD NEWS! The good news is that i would live closer to all my friends and be in walking distance from the school, but the bad news was that the house i was moving into would be small, have no garage, and so comes the demise of E.F. Studios.
We first looked at a pretty crappy location in the nearby town, "Prairie Grove", but we decided "WAAAY too small". We were about to give up when we were driving around 1 day, looking for a "for rent" sign in front of one of the houses. We were just about to go home when we unexpectedly found a house in a nice neighborhood near the school. We talked to the guy who was cleaning up some branches in front of it, and asked if we could have a little inside tour. He said "yes". So, we went inside. The colors inside the house were auful. Everything clashed. It was like a bad 70s nightmare/acid trip/ whatever. We all agreed that it was a nice house, and there was no reason to not to move into it. The price was good, i could now walk to school, and all it needed was a little paint job. It took around 2 weeks to fully paint the inside. But it was worth it. Now our house looked more modern. On October 8, 2007, we started to move furiture from the old building into the new one, using one of my dad's work trucks. It was a long and drawn out process. We had a heck of a time getting moved in, and we got into many fights. However, it was done. On October 20, 2007, the new E.F. Studios officially opened. I actually chrisianed it with a bottle of champain. I broke it over the side of the house to celebrate.
We had trouble resuming our programming after the move. It was all just too different. We didn't start getting back into the usual swing of things until early December.
In Mid December, The E.F. Corporation bought out Over The Sun Productions, a company formerly owned by youtube user Elijah Reiss. He closed his account and made me co chairman. As an effect of the buy out, we created a channel for Universal360's old videos. I had a few saved on my computer, so I figured that it would be good. We created the "Universal Video Vault" channel on December 22, 2007. Its success was good early on, but then fizzled out. Since Universal came back to youtube recently, we shut down the channel on March 1st, 2008.
In late february 2008, Universal, Me, Ethan, and others teamed up to try to get rid of the "Barney bunch", a group of perverted youtube users who...well...i'm not even going to go into detail because its so gross. Anyways, we flamed numerous BB users, and, it turns out that they outnumbered us. So, we lost, sadly. They even made attack videos about Ethan and Bobvob. Ethan ended up shutting down his account. He hasn't came back since. But oh well. However, the war spilled over into march. It was more of a sub-war between me and a user named Tbpats. The climax of the war was Saturday, March 22, 2008. I almost shut down my account, but decided against it, thinking that it would be idiotic and that I would regret it. Tbpats is still trying to get me to close my account today, and has spammed this website many times. But, whatever. What a retard.
On April 13, 2008, the E.F. Rewind Channel was shut down after spam from tbpats. I shut it down early so maybe he'd give a little bit. Besides, nobody paid attention to the channel, anyways.
In early may of 2008, the war between tbpats and others ended. THANK THE LORD ALMIGHTYASOIDFJOASIDFJOASDF
On June 20th, the E.F. Channel filming crew left for southern Louisiana to begin filming "Project Louisiana, 2008. It turned out to be a success, and much good footage was filmed.
On August 24th, the E.F. Channel launched 2 channels on Mogulus.com...the E.F. Channel and Music Video Central. Visit these on the links page.
In Mid September, the E.F. Channel went on a small hiatus, due to lack of ideas....this is known as "The video famine of 2008". We broke free from this when we posted 'The IDK Show, ep. 8'
On October 21, 2008, the E.F. Channel celebrated their 2 year anniversary on YouTube.
In November 2008, the E.F. Channel officially announced that they had cancelled E.F. News, their longest running program...and directing their news sources to their freewebs website.
On New Years 2009, the E.F. Channel broadcasted part of their show on Mogulus, the live-webcam stream site. The channel on Mogulus is temporarily defunct, however.
In early 2009, WMG started removing videos from the our channel, including our most popular Presidents of The United States of America video for Kitty, which had racked up almost 24,000 views before WMG decided that they wanted their song. This has delayed the E.F. Channel from reaching another milestone of 400 videos, which has not been achieved since they reached 300 videos in January 2008. In February 2009, the E.F. channel lost internet access at the headquarters. Video production slowed, viewers lost interest, and numbers for friends and subscribers started to de-cellerate.
On June 1, 2009, The E.F. Channel desserted their home area of Northwest Arkansas to relocate to south Louisiana. There, internet access was near, however, it was so slow, videos could not be uploaded. A massive video block occured and the summer of 2009 was the slowest time of the channel's history, despite October 2006- January 2007, when the YouTube site had no videos yet. Recently in November 2009, the videos started picking up again- kickstarted by the first new IDK Show in 4 months and a new series called "The Tape Deck", which is a music review show. On October 20, 2009, it was announced that the E.F. Channel would be relocating back to Northwest Arkansas in Spring 2010.
And that's all the history that's been written (Updated on November 14, 2009 at 4:29 PM CDT)
